Help Support Research at Kaskaskia, Ridge Lake, and Sam Parr Biological Stations

From river backwaters and reservoirs to research ponds located next to state parks, the Kaskaskia, Ridge Lake, and Sam Parr stations allow scientists to examine how freshwater systems function and how we can improve our care for them.

Each site is part of the Illinois Natural History Survey and supports research that helps guide fisheries management, invasive species control, and habitat restoration across the state.

Your support helps keep this work going.

Your Gift in Action

Every donation helps us cover the essentials—keeping research boats in working order, upgrading lab equipment, or replacing gear that wears down with daily field use. While grants fund much of the science, supplies, maintenance, and emerging technology often rely on additional support.

Gifts like yours allow us to continue moving forward and asking the right questions about fish, water, and the future of aquatic life in Illinois.

How to Give

To make a gift, visit the University of Illinois Foundation donation page. Under Gift Designation, you can select either:

  • Illinois Natural History Survey Annual Fund – 11332127
  • Other (Type: Kaskaskia, Ridge Lake, and Sam Parr Biological Stations)

Either option will help support our research and daily operations at these stations.

Thank You

We are grateful for your support. Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us continue the work we care deeply about.
